In October 1945, as the Toronto Conservatory of Music’s library expanded, Adelaide Bartmann began classifying the Conservatory’s collection and recording it in books of accession records. There was still no dedicated music library at this time; scores and instructional materials were housed in the Conservatory on College Street, and scholarly materials were in the main library on King’s College Circle.
